NextRakaa ("the app," "we," "us") helps you find nearby mosques and their prayer (iqamah) times. This policy explains what data the app collects, how it's used, and your choices.
Summary
NextRakaa does not require an account, does not collect your name, email, or any personal profile. The only location-related data used is your device's GPS position, which is processed on your device to find nearby mosques and is not sent to us tied to your identity. Ads and subscription/purchase handling are provided by third-party services (Google AdMob, RevenueCat), described below.
Location Data
The app uses your device's location (via the operating system's standard location permission) to find mosques near you and to sort them by distance.
- Your precise coordinates are used only on your device to determine which small geographic area ("cell") you're in and to compute distances to mosques for sorting/display.
- To fetch mosque data, the app requests publicly-cached data files identified by which geographic cell they cover — your raw coordinates are never sent to our servers or any third party as part of this request.
- Location is not stored by us, not linked to any account (there is none), and not shared with advertisers.
- The map itself is rendered using Mapbox. Mapbox's SDK separately collects de-identified, anonymized location and usage data to improve map accuracy (e.g. finding missing roads) — this is not tied to your identity and is never used for advertising. You can opt out at any time by tapping the "mapbox" attribution button shown on the map. See Mapbox's Privacy Policy for details.
- You can deny or revoke location permission at any time in your device settings; the app will simply be unable to show mosques near you without it.
Advertising
The app shows ads (banner and occasional full-screen ads) served by Google AdMob to support free use of the app.
- On iOS, the app asks for your permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before showing personalized ads. If you decline (or haven't yet responded), ads are shown non-personalized — not targeted using your advertising identifier or app activity. If you allow tracking, ads may be personalized based on your device's advertising identifier and app activity, which can pay us a higher rate than non-personalized ads. You can change this choice at any time in your device's Settings (iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking).
- On Android, ads are currently shown non-personalized.
- Regardless of personalization, Google may process limited technical data (such as device type, general region, and app context) to serve and measure ads and to prevent fraud, as described in Google's Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Subscriptions & Purchases
NextRakaa offers an optional paid subscription to remove ads.
- Purchases are handled entirely through Apple's App Store or Google Play's own in-app purchase systems — we never see or store your payment details.
- Subscription status and entitlement checks are managed by RevenueCat, a subscription-management service. RevenueCat receives a device/purchase identifier and your subscription status, tied to your App Store/Google Play account — not to any NextRakaa account, since none exists. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy for how they handle this data.
- You can restore a previous purchase on a new device at any time using the app's "Restore Purchases" option, and manage or cancel your subscription directly through your App Store or Google Play account settings.
Accounts
NextRakaa does not require you to create an account to use the app, including the free ad-supported tier and the paid ad-free subscription. There is no NextRakaa-specific user profile, and we do not collect your name, email address, or any other personal identifier.
Children's Privacy
NextRakaa is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Data Retention & Deletion
Since the app doesn't collect personal data tied to an account, there is no NextRakaa-held personal data to request deletion of. To stop all data collection, uninstall the app; to manage or cancel a subscription, use your App Store/Google Play account settings; to reset your advertising identifier, use your device's system settings.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the app changes (e.g. if new features are added). Material changes will be reflected here with an updated effective date.
